My ouzo and tahini mussels

WHAT? 700g. Mussels

Two chopped tomatoes

1 chopped onion, 3 cloves garlic

1/2 pepper

⅓ fennel

Chilli

2 tablespoons Greek olive oil

1 teaspoon tahini

Pepper, salt if needed, pinch of sugar

Ouzo shot

Parsley to serve

1 teaspoon tahini diluted in ½ lemon juice


HOW TO? 

1️⃣Clean the mussels. Remove any sea dirt and sand, as well as the beards emerging from the shells. Any broken need to be thrown away.

2️⃣Sauté onion, garlic, pepper, ground pepper and fennel in higher heat with the olive oil for two minutes.

3️⃣Add tomatoes and pinch of sugar. Add chilli and cook for three minutes

4️⃣Pour ouzo and let the alcohol steam away for two minutes.

5️⃣Add the mussels and close the lid. Cook until open (max. 4 minutes). Add the tahini dilute in lemon. Serve with parsley.
